She oversees compliance with Meta’s external Oversight Board—a global body of human rights experts that guides responsible content decisions—and coordinates implementation across policy, product, and operations teams. Ayana also drives the publication of Meta’s biannual transparency reports, providing NGOs, journalists, and regulators with insight into the company’s progress on governance and accountability regarding content moderation. Her work centers on making governance visible, measurable, and people-focused, ensuring that digital platforms strengthen public trust and societal outcomes.
Community Response Program Manager @ Meta • Dublin, Ireland
For four years Ayana oversaw Meta’s cross-check program, a critical initiative designed to safeguard journalists, activists, and public figures from censorship and undue bias online. She led global coordination across multiple teams to manage the program’s operational success, balancing precision, empathy, and efficiency at scale. Ayana also managed high-stakes global incidents involving health misinformation, civic integrity, and human rights concerns. Working at the intersection of technology and social impact, she developed risk assessment frameworks and long-term harm-reduction strategies to mitigate off-platform threats. Her work supported partnerships with NGOs, policy experts, and internal integrity teams, enhancing Meta’s ability to respond to crises swiftly and effectively. This experience sharpened her expertise in crisis response, risk management, and the design of systems that prioritize both individual safety and community trust.
